Using the Product Name attribute
The Product Name attribute is a powerful tool. It provides a great way to search for specific customers to exclude from a campaign, customers that might be ready for replenishment of a specific product, or customers that have purchased a range of different specific products that you would like to communicate with, and any other use cases you can think of.
Let's have a look at a common use case. In this example, we are going to identify customers that have purchased a product that lasts a specific period of time, let's say 6 months, for use in a replenishment campaign. In our example we will be running a replenishment campaign for our pre-workout supplement "Breathe". We'll search for all customers that have purchased Breathe, but exclude any customers that have purchased this in the last 6 months as the product should last 6 months with average use.
- Navigate to Understand > Segment.
- Search for the Product Name attribute and add it to the PROFILES MUST HAVE ALL OF THESE filter. Open the attribute and add the specific product. In this example we'll add Breathe to the filter. This will include everyone that has purchased Breathe
- We also need to exclude those that have purchased in the last 6 months. Add the Smart Search: Product Purchased attribute to the BUT NOT HAVE ANY OF THESE filter. Add Product Name: Breathe and Order Date: Last 6M filters to the attribute.
- The last step is to save the segment. In the bottom left of the segment builder click on SAVE AS NEW SEGMENT and fill in the required details.
The resulting audience has purchased Breathe before, but not in the last 6 months, perfect. We can then use this audience in an activation for our replenishment campaign.
