Serve Forms

Secure in-store data capture forms enable retailers to seamlessly collect valuable customer information at the point of purchase, helping brands build rich customer profiles for personalized marketing, while maintaining data privacy and customer trust.

Creating a Serve Form

Lexer Forms capture valuable customer information to populate profiles in the CDXP. By configuring a Lexer Form to display in Serve, it can then be used by in-store staff via Lexer Serve.

  • Navigate to the Form Builder.
  • Select the desired form.
  • Go to “Build” then “Settings”.
  • Enable Display this form in Serve?
  • Publish the form.

Linkage

  • Define preferred fields for unifying customer records (e.g., email, mobile number).
  • These link fields become mandatory when creating new customer profiles.
  • Changes to these fields impact questions on Serve Forms and the "Create Profile" form.
  • For instance, if "Email" is a required link, all email questions will:
    • Display a tooltip stating, "This question will be hidden and pre-filled with the customer's details."
    • Become a required field.

How to configure required links

  • Access "Manage," then "Settings."
  • Proceed to "Serve" and then "General."
  • Choose values for "Required Links."
  • Supported options include "Email," "Mobile," and "Both Email and Mobile."
  • Click "Save."

Serve Forms share published and unpublished states with other forms, but with a key distinction in handling required links:

  • The required links configuration applies immediately when a form is designated as a Serve Form.
  • Later changes to required links only take effect after disabling, re-enabling "Display This Form In Serve?" and republishing the form.

Create profile form

This Serve Form facilitates new customer account creation. Modifications to required links automatically adjust required questions (email, phone number, or both). The form can also search for existing customers based on linkage and flag if that profile already exists.

New customers

The "Create Profile" form is used to create a new customer profile in the Lexer CDXP.

Existing customers

If a customer already exists in the database - then a Form can be used to validate and complete their profile. If their profile has all required fields, then a Serve Form can be used for surveys, with their required fields automatically pre-filled.

Please note

For example - if you create a form with that collects only "Email", even if the required links are "Mobile" or "Both." The change won't affect existing published Serve Forms. However, it will impact the "Create Profile" form, so it's advisable to switch back to make sure data capture is consistent.

Modify an existing form

To modify a published Serve Form with "Mobile" as required links to use "Email" instead:

  1. Change the required links settings.
  2. Disable and re-enable "Display This Form In Serve?"
  3. Republish the form to reflect the changes.
