me&u Connect is an email and SMS marketing and automation platform for hospitality businesses. You may know it by its former names of Sprout Send, or Mr Yum Connect.

In this article, we’ll walk you through connecting your me&u Connect account with Lexer, allowing you to improve campaign effectiveness by sending enriched customer segments to for marketing activation and 1:1 personalization.

Integrating your me&U Connect account with Lexer provides a number of benefits, such as:

  • Analyzing profiles in the Lexer hub for greater customer insights.
  • Sending enriched profiles for marketing campaigns and customer personalization.

This integration allows for some flexibility, the output of the integration depends on your available data and what you send through to Lexer. In addition, your attributes could be named in a different way to other clients. If you would like a list of attributes related to this integration, please email your Success Manager.

These are the standard attributes Lexer can create when you connect this integration, however, this will depend on the data available and what you're sending through to Lexer. Also note, your attributes may be named differently.

How do I integrate my account?

The following section of the article follows the step-by-step process of integrating your me&u Connect account with Lexer. Setting up your integration is easy!

1. Start by navigating to Manage > Integrations in the nav bar.

2. Select the me&u Connect tile

3. Click Integrate

4. Enter your me&u account details

5. Accept the permissions

6. Once done. Contact your Lexer Success Manager or Lexer support (support@lexer.io) to request your Activation Configuration to be completed.

The final step
Once you've integrated your account, please contact your Success Manager, or Lexer Support (support@lexer.io) to complete your setup and configuration.

Sending segments to me&u Connect for activation

Now that you have integrated your account with Lexer, let’s activate some segments!

In the hub, navigate to Engage > Activate.

  1. Click New Activation.
  2. Select the appropriate account for this activation (you may have multiple for each brand, location, or region).
  3. Add your Segment. In this example we've added Test Segment A, and at the bottom of the page you can see the number of profiles in this segment that will be activated.

Fill in the necessary details in settings.

  1. Complete the Activation Settings section. Add an Activation Name (the activation name that you will find in the hub) and Activation Tag (this is the name of the segment in Mr Yum Connect). Check the Ongoing Activation box if you want this activation to run daily, and check the Notify me box if you wish to be notified when it runs.
  2. Determine what Contact Properties you would like to populate in your Mr Yum Connect mailing group.
  3. Measurement will default to append audience name to activated profiles to track the Profiles in this activation. In most cases it is helpful to leave this ticked.
  4. Agree to the terms.
  5. Click Run Activation.

This activation will send the relevant audience you have selected from Lexer to Mr Yum/me&u Connect. You can see these contacts if you open up your Contacts within Mr Yum/me&u Connect (see screenshot below)

If you open a contact uploaded through the recent activation within your Mr Yum/me&u Connect contacts you will see a searchable tag appended. This will correlate with the Activation Tag given in the activation steps outlined above. Using these tags, you are able to send custom campaigns to specific target markets you have created in the Lexer hub.
