Using the Order Date attribute in segments
The Order Date attribute is handy to use in your segments when you want to identify customers who have purchased during a particular time period.
These segments can be quite simple, for example, you may want to see all customers who have made an order in the last 12 months. Navigate to Understand > Segment and add the Order Date attribute to the PROFILES MUST HAVE ALL OF THESE section of the builder. Then filter for In the Last > 12 Months.
Hit Search and you'll get your segment.
This attribute can also be used in more complex segments as well, and Smart Search is great for this. Let's run through an example!
You may have a new line of fitness t-shirts coming out, so you want to identify customers who have purchased fitness tees in the past and direct your messaging to them.
To build this segment add the Smart Search Product Purchased attribute to the PROFILES MUST HAVE ALL OF THESE section of the builder, and then add the following filters:
- Product Name > Fitness tee range
- Order Date > In the Last > 6 months
Hit Search, and you've got your segment ready to save and activate!
