Connecting with BigCommerce

BigCommerce is an eCommerce platform for retailers, offering services from small to enterprise sized businesses. Connecting your BigCommerce account with Lexer permits us to import your contacts as enriched Profiles and create and update contact email lists. In this article we'll guide you through the connection process so you can begin importing your contacts.

This integration allows for some flexibility, the output of the integration depends on your available data and what you send through to Lexer. In addition, your attributes could be named in a different way to other clients. If you would like a list of attributes related to this integration, please email your Success Manager.

These are the standard attributes Lexer can create when you connect this integration, however, this will depend on the data available and what you're sending through to Lexer. Also note, your attributes may be named differently.
If you have any questions, or would like to discuss any custom options, please reach out to your Success Manager.

Connecting your BigCommerce account

To connect your BigCommerce account, you will first need to generate API credentials for your ecommerce store. You can read BigCommerce's guide here.

Creating BigCommerce API credentials

While creating your API Key you will need to give Lexer a few permissions, known as "scopes". For a full list see here.

We require read-only access to the following: customers, orders, order transactions, products, and information and settings.

  1. Navigate to Advanced Settings > API Accounts > Create API Account.
  2. Give the account a name (we recommend Lexer or Lexer Integration).
  3. In the OAuth Scopes section, select the following scopes as a minimum:
    1. Customers
    2. Orders
    3. Order Transactions
    4. Products
    5. Information & Settings
  4. Select Save.

Integrating your BigCommerce account to Lexer

  1. Select the BigCommerce tile.
  2. Click Integrate BigCommerce.

Store hash
The first detail you will be asked to enter is the unique hash assigned to your store by BigCommerce. You may get a link from BigCommerce that looks like this: https://store-XXXXX.mybigcommerce.com/ (XXXXX will be replaced by your unique hash). When inputting this information into Lexer, only enter the unique code (XXXXX) and not the whole link, otherwise your integration will fail.
  1. Then click Save Integration.

This integration works by providing Lexer with your existing API token and secrets, allowing Lexer to make these imports on your behalf. In some cases, setting up a new BigCommerce integration will require communications with BigCommerce. If this is the case, a Lexer team member will be in contact with you to have this arranged once your details are submitted.

The final step
Once you've added your BigCommerce account credentials to the BigCommerce tile in the Hub, please contact your Success Manager, or Lexer Support (support@lexer.io) to complete your BigCommerce set up and configuration.

You're done!
